$20.00 – $70.00
Grown at an altitude of 1800-2000 masl in the Chelelektu kebele, south of Yirgacheffe, this coffee was processed in the Kochere washing station. Famous for producing clean fruity and floral coffees, this washing station is located on a steep slope and reveals itself to visitors as a natural amphitheatre.
The name Hanchebe means ‘a place of limestone’ in the language of Gedefa. Coffee from this region is typically grown on a very small scale in the garden of the producers, where it is intercropped with other crops. Farmers usually sell their coffee cherries to wet mills where coffee is hand sorted before processing.
