It's time for the National Barista Championships!

It's time for the National Barista Championships!

The time has come. Both Anthony Douglas and Darcy Lilli Jones from Axil Coffee Roasters will be competing in the National Coffee Championships presented by the Australian Specialty Coffee Association (AKA, ASCA), and we cannot contain our excitement. This year the National Championships will be held at the Meat Market in North Melbourne on the 17th to the 20th of August. Both competitors will be competing against the top coffee roasters in Australia, including St ALi, Ona Coffee and Code Black Coffee.

ANTHONY DOUGLAS

Anthony is competing in the National Barista Championships after placing first in the Southern Region Barista Championships. All competitors will need to present an espresso course, a milk course and specialty coffee concoction that Anthony has been working on for weeks. Although we cannot reveal what makes Anthony's routine so special, we are confident in saying that it is marvellous.

DARCY LILLI JONES

Darcy placed 3rd at the Souther Region Latte Art Championships back in July. For nationals, he will be competing as the 6th best in the country. Darcy is known for creating seahorses, an octopus and birds using frothed milk and a shot of espresso (how cool?!). We are excited to see what he comes up with at the National Latte Art competition.

We wish both Anthony and Darcy the best of luck! Stay tuned for the results.
