Our direct trade approach enables us to deliver ethically sourced coffee to our customers.
We focus on building long-standing relationships with our farmers and producers by paying well above the current fair trade price. And to maintain our high standards, our green bean coffee buying team assesses and scores every coffee before committing to the purchase. Another reason why we visit our partner producers and farms is to ensure that they maintain strong environmental and socially responsible practices.
Coffee Roasting
We roast our coffee beans with a craft-oriented approach to bring out their best qualities.
Rather than roasting a large number of beans in a single batch, we roast our coffee in small batches. This allows us to have greater control over the roast and highlight each batch’s distinct flavours and characteristics. Axil also takes pride in hand-roasting our coffee beans with unique roast profiles. With greater precision over the roast, our roasters can carefully monitor the beans and make necessary adjustments to achieve the desired flavour profile. The result? A top-tier handcrafted coffee in your cup.

We craft each espresso blend based on its flavour profile while making sure we cover a range of preferences. In addition, we keep these blends at their best, which means we only use fresh, crop-green coffee. So, whilst the flavour and balance remain consistent, the individual coffees in each blend will change.

Barista training & Coffee courses
We offer FREE regular courses for you and your staff.
At Axil, our quality training allows you to understand the nuances of different coffee beans and how to extract their best flavours, as well as steaming and frothing milk to improve the taste, texture, and appearance of coffee drinks.
Join us at our Hawthorn venue to learn from talented baristas who are always expanding their coffee knowledge from around the globe. Our course dates are released on the 15th of each month.
