FAQs

The Heavyweight Blend stands out due to its rich and intense flavor profile, designed specifically for traditional espresso drinkers. It features tasting notes of dark chocolate, toffee, and biscotti, achieved through careful selection of beans from Brazil, Colombia, and Laos. The blend incorporates both natural and washed processing methods, allowing the inherent qualities of the coffee to shine, making it a versatile choice for various brewing styles.

The roasting process significantly influences the flavor profile of the Heavyweight Blend. By developing the coffee further in the roaster, the blend achieves a deeper richness and intensity, which appeals to those who prefer a more robust espresso experience. This meticulous approach ensures that the coffee retains its quality while providing a familiar taste for those accustomed to traditional espresso.

For the Heavyweight Blend, the recommended brewing method is espresso, using a recipe of 20 grams of coffee in to yield 44 grams of espresso out, or 22 grams of coffee for a milk-based drink yielding 38 grams. The total extraction time should be between 27 to 30 seconds. This method maximizes the extraction of flavors, ensuring that the rich notes of dark chocolate, toffee, and biscotti are fully realized in each cup.

Yes, while the Heavyweight Blend is optimized for espresso, it can also be enjoyed in various brewing methods such as pour-over or French press. However, adjustments to the coffee-to-water ratio and brewing time may be necessary to accommodate these methods, as the flavor profile may differ slightly. Experimenting with different brewing techniques can help you discover new dimensions of this blend.

To maintain the freshness of the Heavyweight Blend, it is important to store the coffee in an airtight container in a cool, dark place. Avoid exposure to light, heat, and moisture, as these factors can degrade the quality of the coffee over time. If possible, keep the coffee in its original packaging until ready to use, and only grind what you need to preserve its flavor.

The origins of the coffee in the Heavyweight Blend, specifically Brazil, Colombia, and Laos, play a crucial role in its flavor profile. Each region contributes distinct characteristics to the blend: Brazilian coffee often brings body and sweetness, Colombian coffee adds brightness and acidity, and Laotian coffee provides unique flavor notes. This combination of origins allows for a complex and harmonious cup that showcases the diversity of coffee from different parts of the world.
